CHURCH COUNCIL

CHURCH COUNCIL: Meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM.
The Church Council supports and nurtures the life and activities of the congregation. Members of the Council consist of the Pastor and ten voting members of the congregation. Each council member serves as a liaison to one of the committees. Members are elected to serve for three years.
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION COMMITTEE: Meets the 3rd Sunday of each month following the 10:00 A..M.service.
The Christian Education Committee is responsible for instruction of youth through the Sunday School program, conferring with the pastor in preparing the young to receive Holy Communion and instruction for confirmation. This committee is also responsible for providing a program for youth activities, adult education, caring for the church library and promoting the availability of scholarships to Camp Calumet.
OUTREACH COMMITTEE: Meets the 1st Monday of each month at 7:00 PM.
This committee is responsible for maintaining a current membership list, provide publication of the congreation's activities and ministry in the media, seek out and befriend visitors and new members. This committee's purpose is to extend Christian compassion and helpfulness to persons of all ages in need of aid in body and soul. Members should consult with the pastor in determining personal emergency needs for people within the congregation, promote and support participation in the mission and ministries of the New England Synod and church-wide agencies, promote support for ministry and programs of the Greater Concord Inter-Faith Council and promote and support participation in the activities of the Concord Female Charitable Society.
FINANCE COMMITTEE: Meets when needed.
The Treasurer and Financial Secretary are members of this committee. Responsibilities include monitoring of income and expenses and reporting this activity to the Council, monitor the counting and depositing of offerings and other income, manage church savings and investments, manage and negotiate any leases or rentals of church property, manage and monitor insurance coverage for church property and its programs, monitor payment of all financial obligations by the Treasurer, report to members their contributions through the Financial Secretary, gather budget requests annually from the standing committees and prepare recommendation of a budget at the annual meeting of the congregation. This committee also consults with the Auditing Committee at the time of the annual audit and retains financial records on the church premises for a period of seven years.
PROPERTY COMMITTEE: Meets the 3rdSunday of the month following the 10:00 A.M. Service: The Property Committee is responsible for the proper use, maintenance and protection of the property and equipment of the congregation. An annual review is to be done to assess and prioritize maintenance needs, schedule maintenance of equipment and appliances, monitor property and buildings to make sure all fire and safety codes are in compliance, provide the availability for emergency maintenance decisions, assist with hands-on work when needed.
WORSHIP AND MUSIC COMMITTEE


WORSHIP AND MUSIC COMMITTEE: Meets the 1st Thursday of each month at 6:30 P.M.
The Worship and Music Committee meets regularly with the pastor and organist and choir director to plan and schedule worship services, present special or alternative services for Council approval. They assist in the administration of the choir and music programs, provide for liturgists and pastors in the absence of the pastor, provide for the services of a qualified organist and choir director and to negotiate agreements made with those people, recruit, instruct and oversee those who serve as acolytes, communion assistants, altar guild members, crucifers, lay readers and ushers. This committee also maintains a system by which the choir vestments, acolyte vestments and paraments are kept clean and in good condition.
STEWARDSHIP TASK FORCE: MEETS WHEN NEEDED
This task force is to promote the expression of Christian faith in daily living in response to God's grace in Jesus Christ through the joyful and thankful offering of ourselves, our time and our possessions and to create awareness of the needs of ministries for which support and talents are needed. Theyorganize and administer thecongregation's annual pledge drive, educate the congregation that stewardship is a commitment for regular contributions of time, talent and treasure and to provide a sign-up roster (Time and Talent Survey) to give members the opportunity to choose an area of service. This survey enables the utilization of the unique gifts and resources of individuals in the congregation who volunteer their services to God.
